I have no idea what either of those are, so I can't comment. For years IBM has been consolidating (mostly) AIX and Linux systems on Linux for z. It was part of their so-called Project Big Green and we had several executives from IBM talk about it at SHARE. One of the main drivers for it was IBM was running out of floor space in their hosting data centers and they wanted to get their internal systems consolidated to make room for more paying customers. See https://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/21945.wss for the official announcement from 2007. The number of mainframes allocated as the targets of the consolidation went down each time a new generation of processors was announced. The last I heard it was down from 30 to 13. The projected cost savings were, shall we say, considerable. What the current situation is, I can't say. It's been a while since we had someone from IBM come to SHARE to talk about it.
