A bit ahead of schedule, the IBM MASS and ATLAS libraries for z/OS are now available for download as part of the XL C/C++ for z/OS update:
http://www.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/tools/downloads Look for the "XL C/C++ V2R1M1 web deliverable with z13 support for z/OS 2.1 " link. The latest (as I write this) Program Directory is available here (direct link): http://publibfp.dhe.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/cbc1z200.pdf Here are the highlights of this new update: * Support for the new IBM z13 servers, with ARCH(11) and TUNE(11) parameters, including support for the Vector Facility for z/Architecture SIMD instructions. * As mentioned, IBM MASS and ATLAS libraries. * Support for inline assembler statements (without requiring Metal C compilation). * Support for runtime architecture blocks, so that you create single programs that have varying execution paths determined at run-time based on the executing server and its capabilities. If you don't have a license to the IBM XL C/C++ Compiler for z/OS yet, "Contact your friendly IBM representative." Those who have licenses for the Rational Development and Test Environment for z or the IBM PartnerWorld z Personal Development Tool (zPDT) likely already have a compiler license (for authorized uses). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy Sipples IT Architect Executive, Industry Solutions, IBM z Systems, AP/GCG/MEA E-Mail: [email protected] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
