According to Wickipedia the release dates for the EC 12 and BC 12 are:
* zEnterprise BC12 (2828 machine type), introduced on July 23, 2013
* zEnterprise EC12 (2827 series), introduced on August 28, 2012
You have to wonder how many shops bought big into the above two
machines, and how long they anticipated the write off time to be.
Does IBM give trade-ins on old equipment sort of like a car dealer?
If I bought a new car in 2012, and wanted to trade it in on a new
one in 2015, I probably could expect to get 50% of my purchase price as
a trade-in on a new model. I wonder what the market is saying about
this class of machine now?
