This is in large part a desperate accommodation to an archaic
restriction: the prohibition of concurrent sessions. Granted,
concurrent sessions hinder copy-and-paste, but I do this often
by using terminal emulation features or writing/reading temp
files. Both techniques work across disparate editors.
A few of my coworkers like SlickEdit. I'm trying to assist then
in interfacing Slick to our CM system which often enters an
editor with a generated filename and no meaningful extension.
I joined the Slick forum; users there are very helpful and gave
me useful suggestions for forcing the profille ("mode") and
tab labels for the generated filenames.
GIYF; I see that Charles M. and David C. have Slick interest.
I'd welcome any exchange of techniques, perhaps off-list.
