I believe that member ICEMAN is delivered with alias SORT. It seems more proper for an installation installing SYNCSORT to overlay SORT with SYNCSORT, but not to so usurp ICEMAN. But what to do about programmers who have coded PGM=ICEMAN in their JCL. And what about overlaying IEBGENER with ICEGENER (is it upward compatible?) or with SYNCGENR? Compatible? I believe that it was mentioned here long ago that one of the DFSORT family deliberately does not treat //SYSIN DD DUMMY //SYSIN DD * /* //SYSIN DD UNIT=SYSALLDA, SPACE=(1,0) ... as equivalent. That's reprehensible. -- gil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
