​Quite true. And I'd almost bet that the generations are stored as a full
member. That is, not compressed (unless the DSN itself is compressed) and
not a "delta deck". Personally, I'd probably only allow it for something
like control card library. We use CA-Endevor, so we have what we need for
most things. The only group which doesn't use CA-Endevor is ... us. But it
is somewhat nice. I forgot to mention that it also say that performance
_may_ be degraded for RECFM=V, VB, or U. ​
