Subject: Re: JES2 and IBM Global Mirror (UNCLASSIFIED)

We've been mirroring our DASD with Global Mirror for several years (and SRDF
before that). Our policy currently is to mirror everything. No problems at all.
And it makes it a lot easier when you get to DR--there's no issue of "oh well
that dataset we need for production really happens to be on a dev/test volume".

IIRC, in the early days (~10 years ago, with SRDF) we did keep page volumes out
of mirroring, at least for the two-hop solution where we did sync replication
to a local bunker and async from there. But we even let those go now. I'm 100%
sure we always did the spool. I'm 95% sure we always did the JES checkpoint,
but primary checkpoint is in the CF.
