You can't share a CF LPAR between sysplexes. You should define at least 2
CF LPARs. And you should avoid - if at all possible - having CF LPARs
sharing ICF processors (unless you really don't care about performance).

Subject: Question regarding sharing of CF
Sent by: IBM Mainframe Discussion List <[email protected]>

Hello,

Is it possible to share a CF (CF LPAR) between two different sysplex (the
structure names will of course be different for the sysplex-es)?
In other words, if there are two CFs - CFA & CFB, and two sysplex - PLEXY
and PLEXZ, can PLEXY and PLEXZ access different structures defined in CFA
and CFB simultaneously ?

e.g JES2 primary and duplex checkpoint structures -
Primary for PLEXY in CFA, Duplex for PLEXY in CFB
Primary for PLEXZ in CFB, Duplex for PLEXZ in CFA

And is sharing of CFs among sysplex (or monoplex) , a good practice to
follow?

Thanks you!
