No, last time I heard it was on a 3279 terminal. Hmmm, why must an alarm be

More than a wild ride! IEF374I and IEF376I are discontinued and replaced by
IEF032I and IEF033I on z/OS v1.13.
TSO/E for z/OS 1.12 still sounds the BEL (as perhaps I should have
called it in the subject, recalling an S.Metz comment re NUL vs NULL) at
the LOGON panel, whereas 1.13 and 2.1 do not. That's what I observe,
anyway. YMMV
I guess it used to demand our attention with imperious authority decades
ago, but perhaps now we're all laid-back internetters it can no longer
do so. What's next? Conversion of IKJ messages to lower case? >*shudder*<
