Hi, I currently use APA for monitoring heavy application outside from DB2 or CICS.
I'm really far from a heavy use but I can say it works properly cause it helps me in optimizing applications. It's my opinion it's a good tool for cpu bound application, a bit less for discovering elapsed time issues. Finally, I use a set of tools to do the job, SMF, monitors, APA etc. Best regards.
