A similar question applies to Shmuel's suggestion of DEVTYPE.

The definitive test should be for DSNAME='NULLFILE'.

If the code is intended for general use (e.g., a SORT invoked dynamically), then flag TIOSLTYP needs to be tested, as well as several bits in TIOELINK.
