Hi List,

I know this is an open-ended question, but what all does IEFIIC do? I know
it's the initiator routine, but here's the context of my question. We have a
batch job that is running a rather large 24 bit assembler program. Our
below-the-line private region is just over 10M and this program fits - just
barely. In looking at a couple tools available here, it appears as though the
address space running this program is gobbling up 31 MB of real storage.
Drilling down into Mainview, the program has allocated 10 MB, and IEFIIC has
taken an additional 21 MB. What is IEFIIC doing with all this storage? I
looked at a different job/program and IEFIIC is taking 2 MB in that job. Does
IEFIIC manage VSAM buffers, etc on behalf of the job?

TIA,

Rex
