Hi,

A short answer to your question is to get the Hardware Management Console(HMC)
and Service Element(SE) guides for your particular processor model. Pretty
much everything you ever want to know about processor configuration setting
information is in those books. You'll also find the z/OS Initialization and
Tuning guide and/or z/VM CP Planning and Administration and CMS Planning and
Administration guides handy when researching OS-related settings.

Now, exactly what to configure each setting at depends on what kind of CP you
have, how much central storage you have, how many I/O channels and how they're
configured, how many LPAR's do you have, how big is each one, etc. The list
gets long and there are no simple answers, largely because many settings depend
on what a related settings is, e.g., settings A & B each depend on what C is
set to which might be processor-dependent. It is VERY educational.

Good luck and try to enjoy yourself doing this.
