If the "cost" of this effort can not be sufficiently contained then it will 
collapse under it's own weight.

JOL will never be made part of z/OS, there are many reasons for this some 
technical and some non-technical.

FOSS and z/OS exist in different universes, perhaps even different dimensions 
:-) From a practical point of view I can not see anyway to build a bridge from 
one to the other :-(
