I "cut my teeth" on DOS rel 26 many years ago as an operator. We had that typical (back then) rack of manuals at the console to "figure out any problem"... I quickly realized I'd never remember it all, but if I could just remember where to start looking, I could probably find the answer... some day. In the Linux/Unix/AIX world it ain't much better but at least there's the wonderful 'man page's - great if you know what command you want to get details on but useless if don't. Now working with large mainframe software migrations to various mid-range systems, I have found a 'true friend' in Google... :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
