The Linux file emulate a 3390 or a 3380 volume. Do you can restore s DFDSS dump 
to it. It is in what is sometimes called AWS format.
I didn't think Colin wanted to share. I think he wanted to be able to access a 
volume from one system from another.
I think ZD&T and its big brother zPDT have been withdrawn by IBM. 
Running a sysplex is possible under zPDT if you run multiple z/OS images under 
z/VM.

Can a sysplex contain a z/O? using ZD&T?
