It doesn't, the DASD format is your normal MVS dataset. The z/OSMF
format is used when records are transmitted over HTTP. From there they
can be saved in regular files on a PC etc. For a PC It doesn't really
matter what format the record length is in, as long as it is there and
you know how to read it.
