Subject: EXTERNAL Email: CBT Usermod Collection for ISPF (CUCI) V2R1 RELEASED!

FYI,

I'm pleased to announce Version 2 Release 1 of the CBT Usermods
Collection for ISPF (CUCI), available at
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.cbttape.org/ftp/updates/CBT967.zip__;!!K1aXqncla1X7G90AkdLmCg!pv9ho5I-BDsqC8ZJbeXkU2GhCQhQFKw-_nu8CjS868OgaHUfFxM1cS9wYzd7iLcRtvYi-Kh_HSyqVM_oDx1uKqeql-EslaE$
 . If you want EDIT
highlighting for other languages, if you want useful
modifications to ISPF panels, if you want a way to set default ISPF
options that are not in the ISPCCONF dialog, then CUCI is for you!

The major usermods provided by CUCI:

- Highlight 21 languages in EDIT not supported by ISPF
- USRCCONF dialog to customize ISPF options not included is ISPCCONF
- Turn off SUPERUSER when exiting 3.17 or ISHELL
- Block deletes in ISPF 3.4 don't stop on VSAM
- ISPCMDS changes to enable cd in ISPF 3.17, SF abbreviation for
SRCHFOR, and other command abbreviations, UDL for UDLIST, DSL for
DSLIST, etc.

V2R1 contains the following enhancements and maintenance items:

Total IBM Ideas delivered to date: 09
Total RFEs delivered to date: 39

IBM Z Hardware and Operating Systems Ideas satisfied:

ZOS-I-4592 Edit highlighting for YAML

Fix issues and add capability to HIGHLITE:

- Eliminate HILITE OTHER, so that every language is
now manually highlighted. Every language will
also now work in both EBCDIC and ASCII mode.

   - Call quotehighlite
   - Call operhighlite
   - Call parenhighlite if ZHIPAREN = ON
   - Eliminate routine gohighlite.
   - Remove any mention of HILITE OTHER

This is now done for every language.
- Add R functions.
- With the elimination of HILITE OTHER, add code to
   handle /* */ type comments.
- Add YAML support.

CUCI highlights 21 languages not supported by ISPF EDIT:

ACS (much better than CLIST highlighting)
CARLA
FLOWASM
FORTRAN
GO
JAVA
JAVASCRIPT
JSON
KOTLIN
PANELX (panel highlighting the way it should have been from the beginning)
PERL
PHP
PYTHON
R (the R statistics language, available as a Rocket Ported Tool)
RUBY
SAS (could use some help here, there are thousands more keywords to
identify)
SHELL
SQL
TYPESCRIPT
XMLASCII (a must if you're working with or customizing z/OSMF workflows)
YAML

Ideas and contributions are always welcome, so download CUCI and try it
out. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
