"an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit:" You ignore that "WE THE PEOPLE" are private owners in our government but ask yourself what profit do you see? Nancy Pelosi is worth $240M on a $250,000 salary and you say we are a capitalist country. The US is far from being capitalist with all the gov intervention. Other countries are far worse. Pharmaceutical industry is a simple example where we pay many times more for our medicine than any other country. If we were capitalist, we would have laws like other countries that limit the price of drugs according to the price every other country pays. The computer industry is driven by "FREE" mindset instead of profit. Exactly how much did you pay for Linux? Many computer companies live on donations instead of profits. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
