Is bpxwunix() a candidate? I read in
<https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/3.1.0?topic=functions-bpxwunix>
    Usage notes

    (for example, in TSO/E).

Is that true, effective, and practical? I submitted a Feedback asking
for examples.
