It was GA'd in 1997. I would not expect it is still marketed or supported.
Of course "I'm pretty sure" is not the same as "here you have the
document", but sometimes we should really rely on common sense. Can you
provide EOS document for IBM MSS? So, lack of such document could mean
it is still supported?
BTW: A mentioned MSS because few years ago I deleted OPERCMDS profiles
covering MSS-related commands. And I had to convince folks that:
1. The profile is related to such command (no longer documented in
current manuals)
2. The device is really waaaay obsoleted and actually it was never
installed in this shop.
Same for TCAM command profiles...

Hi Timothy,
Is it possible that the 3995-C46 hit EOS in Asia/Pacific but it is still
available elsewhere? The reason I'm asking is that I got my information from
the IBM lifecycle website. If I do a search on 3995 I get 10 hits. 9 of them
show the W/D date of 12/31/2012. The C46 model doesn't show withdrawn. If I
drill down into it, this is what I see specific to the C46:
Lifecycle dates, announcement letters and other information
GA 03-Sep-1996
EOM
EOD
EOS
Last updated: 13-Dec-2023
To compare, here's the C44:
Lifecycle dates, announcement letters and other information
GA 28-Feb-1997
EOM 15-Jul-2004
EOD
EOS 31-Dec-2012
Last updated: 13-Dec-2023
It looks like the withdrawal announcement you posted is dated from 2011, and it
specifies Asia/Pacific.

IBM withdrew all the IBM 3995 optical libraries from marketing many years ago
including the C46 model. IBM service ended December 31, 2012:

There's a recent z/OS Statement of Direction concerning IBM 3995 optical
