For those that might be interested in creating a program in Java or similar instead of REXX, you can drive GIMAPI to perform SMPCSI queries using a z/OSMF REST API (REST APIs use HTTP to send requests from a client to a server). This SMPCSI Query API was introduced last year in PTF UI96759 on z/OS 3.1.
