5. If you really want to transfer (only transfer, no changes!) using
.Linux platform then you can simply pack your file into some envelope.
IMHO the simplest method is to use XMIT. Then you can transfer
XMIT-packed file wherever you want and finally un-XMIT (RECEIVE) the
original content. However I guess there is something to change on Linux
side. :-).
I need some clarification regarding the handling of RDW (Record Descriptor
Word).

  1. How can I extract RDW information on the Linux platform , when using XMIT
and TERSE? Is there a specific method or tool that can be used for this purpose?
https://github.com/mainframed/xmi   may be your friend (at least helpful)

  2. After transferring data from Linux back to z/OS following my original
steps ,

can I write a program to read the RDW in the uploaded file to retrieve the
original data?

Create an XMI on linux using the tool mentioned above.

To copy the XMIT file from linux to Z/OS  use binary and lrecl 80

Use TSO/E receive.

/P

Any insights or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated!
