I ran into something odd today and I don't know why I didn't notice this
previously.

On the z/OS 3.1 volumes (DLIB and RES), when I select a dataset from the 3.4
dslist of the entire 3.1 dlib volume (in my sample the dataset is AOP.AAOPEXEC
but it happens for every dataset on the volume), I get the dataset allocation
shown in bytes

If I go to a z/OS 2.5 dlib volume and display that dataset it shows in tracks:

                              Data Set Information

This seems to happen whether I look at it from the z/OS 2.5 system or from the
z/OS 3.1 system.

Did I miss something about z/OS 3.1 system volumes using bytes instead of
tracks or cylinders to show the data?

If I delete a dataset and reallocate it in tracks, it still shows up as bytes.
This only seems to happen on the dlib and res volumes.

Something new?
