I always thought it was STCBOTCB being non-zero.

That is what we use in our code. However, the actual field name is CHTRKID, not 
CHKTRID.

Unfortunately, the CSCB doesn't help identify z/OS UNIX work, so we augment our 
use of CHTRKID with testing of OUCBOMVS.
