Yet another way to check whether Python is installed on z/OS is via its IBM Program Number and FMID, assuming it's been installed via SMP/E (such as via the z/OS Management Facility) and not via the "pax" method. Currently, with Version 3.12 of the IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python on z/OS, the Program Number is 5655-PYT and the FMID is HAMB3C0.
