I was thinking of something more ambitious; TCAS, VTIOC and ISPF support for X11, allowing a user to log on from an X11 server.

Port forwarding might be a valuable addition to a 3270 emulator; more useful than IND$FILE. Modularity. Better to employ an outboard existing editor with Unicode capability than duplicate the function in one that lacks it.
