There shouldn't be as long as your storage subsystem supports it and you have maintenance applied for it. It has been around a long time now so you should have all the support unless you are really back leveled. It never hurts to check though... get current holddata and run REPORT MISSINGFIX for "IBM.Function.zHighPerformanceFICON" for your z/OS target zone(s) as someone already mentioned. I honestly don't know if there would be any DB2 specific PTFs under this category or not, but I don't think so. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-fix-category-values-and-descriptions >- Does one activate zHPF one LPAR at a time or in a big bang for all LPARs in >the sysplex? We did it in sandbox LPARs first many years ago, then on a sysplex by sysplex basis. However, if your change control dictates it must go on a certain set of LPARs first (dev/prod in the same sysplex), then that can be done with no harm. It doesn't have to be turned on to all sharing LPARs at the same time. However if you are trying to measure the before / after benefits on "day 1", I would turn it on for all sharing LPARs after any testing. > >- Do I have to tell DB2 that zHPF has been activated for it to take advantage >of it? No. All DB2 I/O should be zHPF-capable. I recall even back at V10 it was and I assume you are running something newer than that.
