Look at USERUNITTABLE in HSMPARMS. I presume you have an esoteric that segregates virtual and physical devices.
You might also want to investigate RECYCLEINPUTDEALLOCFREQUENCY HTH, <snip> I am currently converting my physical tape environment to Virtual and have found a snag. I have started the RECYCLE process and I found a problem. A user recalled a dataset that was on a recycled tape, HSM asks for the correct volume to be mounted, but it wants it mounted on an old 3490 drive. Not sure how to resolve this.. I started my RECYCLE not knowing about the PERCENTFULL option to go over 100%, I coded 100. HSM treated the Virtual tapes as 3480's with only 200MB capacity. These RECYCLE tapes were one of the first, not sure if that is causing MVS to assume it is a 3480 and to be mounted on the older drive...? Just looking for some quick assistance, I have the vendor researching too, but the more eyes the better... </snip> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
