He was agreeing that DASD block sizes up to 32K but that in most case anything 
over half a track would waste space.

Of course, with custom CCWs you can write full track, but I wouldn't expect 
BSAM or QSAM to be happy.

And/or some context:  What are they correct about?  That might make the 
distinction between
"best practice" and  "functional capability" self-evident.
