Parwez,
I read your previous message (thank you!), I didn't answer it just to
reduce noise. However I appreciate it.
Regarding SE and HMC hardware - I still have doubts.
Yes, SE, HMC and TKE use the same "pizza box" machine made by Trenton
Systems.
Note: I mean rack-mounted HMC and TKE.
Those machines are very similar, but not exactly the same. Yes, the
number of Ethernet or USB ports, fans etc. is the same.
However TKE contains crypto card, which is non-existent in HMC. And SE
contains SmartCard Reader, which is non-existent in HMC.
Last sentence is based on official IBM documentation: Service Guide.
To my understanding there is stock of one type of pizzabox PC machines,
but those machines have different and-on devices, depending on purpose:
smartcardreader for SE, crypto card for TKE, nothing for HMC. My
assumption only.

As previously stated, when the rack mounted 1U Servers for the SEs and HMCs
were introduced, at that time, the physical hardware used was the same for both.
The internal USB attached Smart Card reader for each SE was installed with a
smart card as a default for use by firmware for FoD (feature on demand) and
Flash Express - this was not for customer use and hence not accessible.

To complement: The SmartCard Reader is documented in Service Guide, BUT...
But it is documented is *Support Element* Service Guide. HMC Service
Guide shows no SmartCard reader inside.
So, it looks like wrong hardware taken for HMC. The PC is configured for
SE purposes, not HMC purposes. Note, the differences are really minor
and do not harm any feature or operations.

OK, I found it. It is *internal* device, inaccessible to the user. And
it is not for typical smart cards.
Strange, it is reported as connected to USB - yes, USB can be
internal, but IMHO the goal is to report external devices, which is
important from security point of view.
