A.Yes. You may use either approach.

Q.Somewhere in this thread, someone used the phrase "link edit" in
connection with LONGPARM.  Will the Linkage Editor be enhanced
to support LONGPARM?
A.No. Surely it is obvious that the linkage editor will never be enhanced 
again,
and also is well known that the "link edit" term is often used these days 
to refer to an operation, not as a reference to the linkage editor as 
contrasted with the binder. Maybe that's careless, but it is true.
