IFASMFD? should tell you which records are the greatest volume. Alternatively MXG or MICS daily processing times will also indicate the source of the increase

My first guess would be that the DB2 folks have turned on some additional tracing. Next best guess is CICS or MQ activity change.

I would also check for any recent application changes. Some thing as simple as excessive open/close of a file might be the source of the increased data.

Or it could be a system change like enabling TYPE99 (WLM) records or someone changing the RMF interval instead of using the RMF III data store for an analysis. And security folks have been known to enable additional logging without advance notice.

Oh, and beware the Ides of March.
