Every time I see an email with this subject line, I think at first the
spammers have found us. I keep getting scams saying "thank you for your
order", usually for an antivirus product, telling me they've charged me a
few hundred dollars. When those emails first became fashionable I was
getting half a dozen of them or more every day; it's been a while since I
received any, but today I got a handful of them. The subject line often
looks like this: all-caps, and I can see that "RECEIVE ORDER" could be
taken to mean "we received your order".

The odd thing about it is that it comes in plain text and has no hypertext
links. How will they gain anything if there's no link for me to click on?
The only hook I can see is a phone number, that I should call if I want a
refund or have questions. I assume if I call this number complaining "hey,
I didn't order this!", they'll say something like "oh, sorry, sir. We'll
issue a refund immediately. Give us your bank info and we'll deposit it
tomorrow.
