Excellent point Tom ... some session managers will suppress messages.  For
example TPX defaults to suppressing messages if an ACL script is defined
for that logon and is running.  Pretty easy to activate a script, even by
mistake, and the messages will disappear (unless the script chooses to
display them).  If problem is only for 1 specific user, their session
manager usage is a good culprit.
