I found this in a comment on the above article.

All three legacy US airlines (AA, UA, and DL) use SCEPTRE as their primary 
maintenance and engineering system. It’s old, as Gary described, and is 
mainframe driven. It also has no central owner but is essentially maintained by 
armies of consultants from firms like IBM or DXC. Each airline’s implementation 
of SCEPTRE is quite different.
