Felicitous translation is sometimes possible, sometimes not.

What is clear enough is that felicity is not achievable between pairs of SBCSs.

SBCS==>DBCS is very much less problematic; but, for reasons that I do
not fully understand, it is resisted; and while it continues to be
resisted no finally satisfactory resolutions of these problems are
achievable
