I remember the IBM marketing team calling it the "VAX Killer". Our company bought the VAX instead of the 9370.

We had one, and microcode updates came as BOXES of floppies, which meant some unlucky bastard got to spend a day feeding them into the HMC (a PS/2). Less content in all the boxes than one CD, never mind a DVD or flash drive. And woe betide the poor soul who got a bad floppy on #45 of 50! Which happened.
