You would need to look at SYSLOG and the output of the STC

I would verify if the STC JCL is still available to look at after you start it 
and it comes down

Since you did not provide any details (What is the STC, show us the JCL used) 
it is difficult to provide any guidance.

If your STC JCL is purged after it comes down, check the STCCLASS in JES2 (if 
JES2 shop) and see if STC jcl gets purged.  If it does, then 

S stc-name,MSGCLASS=    use a CLASS that is retained.

Or if your STC JCL goes to an output manager (like SAR, $avers) then review the 
output

Any JCL Erros?  Any other conditions that caused it to come down?
