I know what you mean - I also find it annoying, and it just seems a bit messy somehow. Other culprits I know of are CA MSM, and CA Common Services (TNGE component).
On a related note, from an automation point of view, you can beat a simple "S taskname", with associated "initialization complete" type message, and "P taskname" with associated "shutdown complete" message.
