The 305 RAMAC had a disk drive long before the 7090. It's conceivable
that IBM developed the 1301[1] for SABRE, although I've never seen
such a claim.

[1] Which I believe was derived from the 7303 disk drive on the
    IBM 7030 (Stretch.).
