It DEPENDS.
If your STC consumes "free" CPU cycles, then you lost time. If your STC
consumes *AND MUST* consume CPU cycle during rush hours, and cannot be
dispatched on other hours, then you saved some cycles from the peak,
which COULD mean real savings.
Disclaimer: I'm not biased. I'm not interested in neighter your
gratification, nor company savings. My opinion. If you need some
justification, why you should get bonus, just tell us, we imagine
something ;-)
BTW: BTDT. I did it many times. I did many optimisations, which saved
"countable" amounts of money and almist never get gratified for that.
