Do you mean that sample UCLIN for the product should include a
customizable sample/default SMPJHOME DDDEF?
A reasonable UNIX distribution (in contrast to z/OS USS) would
provide a (customizable) symlink to the current Java libraries
in (e.g.) /usr/lpp/java/...
