Is the volume SMS managed or not? My copy of the HSM Storage Administration manual states that if the MIGRATE sub-parameter of the VOLUME parameter is not specified for an SMS volume, the command will fail with an error message. It also states that the DAYS parameter can only be specified for an SMS volume. Since you didn't get an error message, the volume must not be SMS managed. But then, the DAYS parameter is not allowed (but apparently does not generate an error message either).
