IEFBR14 seems to start a regular thread every year. However, there is one case that I have not seen mentioned - in the dark ages, under release 21 of OS/360(MVT), IEFBR14 steps on our system abended with S322. I had to write a special exception into IEFUTL to allow allocation to complete.
