Mike, I was instead of using the FREEVOL command, maybe if I issue the command HSEND MIGRATE VOL(MVS001 MIG(0)) ML2 would that migrate dsns to ML2 and leave all other non-eligible dsns on the volume?

Once the datasets are on other ML1 volumes, the ML2 -> ML2 will migrate the datasets on that volume using its rules.
