If you purchase the iPad Cloud Browser app you can use both Flash and Java on the iPad. It actually runs a full Firefox session and streams the content to your iPad. The finger movements are a little different from the standard ones, but easy to get used to. There are a couple others that might be better (or worse) called iSwifter and Puffin, but I have only ever used Cloud Browser.
