Jewelry's purchase dates are in TROY format, since jewelry is usually made of 
precious metal(s).  Chocolate's purchase dates are in AVOIRDUPOIS format, since 
eating chocolate helps one to add weight and avoirdupois means literally "to 
have some weight".  Books' purchase dates are in METRIC format, since some 
books contain poetry, which is usually written in some metrical style.  <G>

Canada is all screwed up <G>  We bought jewelry, chocolates, and a book at a 
Halifax mall, and each receipt had a different date format.
