Why I don't get is that the automatic jobs are running but the Journal file remains with the same amount of disk space allocated after execution. We also have a batch job that compresses the HSM files (backup/delete/create/reload) but the Journal is not in the list.

My plan is to shutdown HSM, rename the existing file, create a new one with the same characteristics, copy the renamed file, and bring up HSM. Is my thinking appropriate?
