Hi,

Any time CICS finds the PSW not in the current program it will issue the
'FFFFFFFF' as part of its DFHAP0001 abend information.

This can occur for example, if a Mainline program (COBOL) issues a dynamic call
to another COBOL program. Due to the fact that An EXEC CICS LINK was Not
issued, CICS believes we are still executing the program that issued a call,
because we didn’t use CICS Services to transfer control. Of course the CICS
Trace will be of no value due to CICS not knowing about this 'called' program,
unless of course it issues any EXEC CICS commands

One of the tips I always give to programmers using both dynamic and static
calls, so we can track these calls in a Trace, is if possible, to issue an EXEC
CICS ENTER TRACENUM just before the CALL statement, and pass the name of the
Called program in the RESOURCE field. This will cause an entry to be made in
the Trace table and as such it is easier to follow logic flow, for both of
these types of calls. The ENTER TRACENUM command is safe to issue as it will
not cause CICS to interrupt the program.
